We apologize for not getting an e-zine out for some time. We really have no excuse other than the fact that we have been extremely busy these last few months with customer service questions, lots of new customers, and in our personal lives, a wedding! Gina Paolino and Bryan Paulhus of bulk-essiac-tea.com got married on May 6 (They are now Mr. and Mrs. Paulhus). We will strive to put out the e-zine on a more regular basis from now on! -------------------------------------------------------------- **Note on Essiac Taste** -------------------------------------------------------------- Recently some of our batches of essiac tea have been more bitter than what you may be used to. One thing you have to know is that some companies change the ratios of herbs or add sweeteners to the tea to help improve the taste and therefore sell more essiac. We refuse to do this, as it may compromise the integrity of the essiac to alter it in any way. If you wish, you may add your own honey, stevia, or unsweetened fruit or vegetable juice to your essiac to help improve the taste, but we wish to let you add any ingredient rather than have us add it for you, because not everyone wants something added to their essiac. To the best of our knowledge adding these natural substances doesn't affect the essiac, but be aware that the clinical trials were all done on straight essiac. The other reason the essiac might be more bitter than you are used to is that, the fresher the herbs are, the more bitter they taste. At this point our essiac is fresher than ever due to the high volume we are selling (it doesn't remain in our warehouse very long). This is a good thing for you, because your purchased product is fresher and lasts longer. However, it will make a more bitter tea. We suggest that you consume the essiac as quickly as possible without trying to taste it (i.e., hold your breath and don't breathe through your nose as you drink). ---------------------------------------------------------- **Becoming a Proactive Cancer Patient** ---------------------------------------------------------- Approximately one out of every two American men and one out of every three American women will have some type of cancer at some point during their lifetime, according to the American Cancer Society. This year almost 1.4 million Americans will hear the words "You've got cancer," and in that instant their lives will be forever transformed. Experts explain what newly diagnosed cancer patients need to know to help fight their disease. ---------------------------------------------------------- **The Herxheimer Reaction** ---------------------------------------------------------- It is sometimes good to feel bad! When you start a new treatment for an illness, your symptoms might increase at first, leaving you wondering if you're really getting healthier at all. This is called a Herxheimer reaction. This is the "die-off" effect that many people experience when they dramatically improve their diet and lifestyles. It is an allergic response to the toxic by-products produced when the body's pH is changed for the better--and essiac will change your body's pH for the better. When this happens, large numbers of dangerous bacteria and yeast organisms die and leave the body. During this period, you might not feel very well at first, but you are in fact responding positively to treatment. After this initial detoxification period, you can look forward to some significant improvement of your symptoms! ---------------------------------------------------------- **Diabetes: Eating Right** ---------------------------------------------------------- Maintaining a healthy diet is important for everyone, but it is especially important for people with diabetes. Following the right meal plan can make all the difference to a person struggling to keep their blood sugar under control. But, what is the right meal plan? How much of which food group should you eat? Along with a visit to a dietician, this guide should help answer questions you may have. ---------------------------------------------------------- **Water for Wellness** ---------------------------------------------------------- Whether you're detoxing from your unhealthy eating habits or just fighting a cold, there's one substance that can help speed you to wellness: Water. Drink lots of it to help flush all those unhealthy toxins from your body.
